Why is Defining Your Customer important?

In order to market a product or services  you must get clear on WHO your ideal customer is, where they are online and what the challenges they are trying to solve is.  

Think of your ideal client, as your source of all inspiration and motivation behind your products or services.

Keep in mind – there will be more that one persona ( grouping of people with similar lifestyle, values etc.) and each of these groups will require different communication.

Below are some of the questions we ask our clients when building their client persona.

Let’s figure out who your ideal client is!

• What is their age range?

• Are they Male or Female?

• Are they Rural/Urban?

• Do they have a certain ethnic background?

• What do they value?

• What is their Education level?

• Where are they? (geographical)

• What do they value in life?

• What are their habits or quirks?

• What do they enjoy doing, what do they dislike?

• What are their absolute favourite things?

• What are their guilty pleasures?

• What do they do in their spare time?

• What are their problems/challenges?

• What do they lie in bed at night worrying about?

• What is their social life like? (Active, Busy, Loner, etc.)

• Where do they get their info?(Be Specific – TV, Social, Blog, Newspaper, etc.)

• What do they NEED in their life?

• What do they WANT from you?
